Perplexity
Perplexity adds a remote MCP server as a custom connector. You add ~alter as a custom connector at https://mcp.truealter.com, sign in through your browser, choose your ~handle (that is how your account is created), then use Perplexity as you normally would. It can read verified identity the same way it reads any other tool. No terminal needed.
Plan requirement. Custom connectors in Perplexity are available on Pro, Max and Enterprise. They are not available on Free.
Add the connector
- Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose + Custom connector.
- Choose Remote and enter
https://mcp.truealter.comas the URL, with its OAuth details when prompted. - Sign in through your browser. Sign-in runs over standards-based OAuth, so Perplexity handles the consent flow and there is nothing to paste.
- Choose your ~handle. That choice creates your account on the protocol.
- Use Perplexity as you normally would. The identity tools are now available to it.
With or without an account
The anonymous tools work with no account. Signing in and choosing your ~handle reaches the authenticated tools, which settle per call over x402.
How to revoke
Revocation is immediate. In Perplexity, open Settings, then Connectors, and remove ~alter, or revoke it from your consent surface over the same connection. Either path stops all further reads. An audit row records the revocation.
